"The world can tolerate many mice, but few elephants".
A Monday reminder for all founders that you don't need to build a unicorn. It's ok to stay small and profitable. The world belongs to those serving niches.

Ok this is a good one.
Why? Lot’s of people want to journal, but it takes a bit of time, which means people give up. By using text messages, it becomes a lot less of a hassle. It’s just like answering a message.
Just by responding to one text each day, you can get happier, healthier, and track your progress along the way.
This would be a fun one to build that I would 100% use each day.

I want to make a simple and nice looking changelog for Wavium but I haven’t been able to find anything that does this and makes it easy for me to make a changelog.

When building a product, I don't think about making something for thousands of people. My goal is to make a small number of people extremely happy. If you can make a few people really happy, then a few great things happen.
Next time you're making something, focus on making 10 people really happy.

This morning I updated this site to be more focused on my writing. Each day, for the rest of this year I want to publish at least something to this site. You will be able to tell quite simply if I have failed or succeeded. I want to become a better writer and I'm sure this daily challenge will work wonders. I recently finished the very first version of Typeshare so I will be using that to turn these posts into images that I can share on my socials. I'm excited to see where this goal takes me.

Want to know why so many people start a startup then get a job a few years later?
Because they put all their eggs in one basket. They spend years building one thing. Chances are you are not the next Steve Jobs. Spending all of your time on one idea is incredibly risky. Instead, consider building a portfolio of smaller businesses. This lets you try many ideas and if one doesn’t work out - who cares? Onto the next…
VC firms don’t invest in one idea.
You don’t invest your savings in one stock.
So, why invest all of your time in one idea?

I feel like there is a problem in Startup culture right now. Becoming an entrepreneur shouldn’t be synonymous with trying to build a unicorn. What happened to just buidling something for the independence and the fun of it? Not everything needs to be big. I want to build small products out of curiosity. I want enough money to live a modest life. I want the freedom to choose how to spend my 24 daily hours.
For me, time is the only commodity worth caring about. You need a base amount of yearly income to live a comfortable life. I don’t want a penny more than that.
I don’t want to optimize for money, I want to optimize for time and happiness.
